Backup question

Trying to backup Crash Bash.

The Original is working and playing on my modified PSX.
Do i need to patch it then ?
Or is it ok to copy it with CloneCD ? and then it has to work ?

As i tried that and it hangs at the beginning of the game.
Could it be a problem with the burning-speed or extracting speed as i read somewhere i think ?

I burned at 8-speed. is this too fast ?

I used cdrwin and it works fine, try burning at 1x speed, I rarely have problems.

well I did patch it with the Paradox-patch for the PAL-EURO version (english, french, spanish....... version).

Then i got the LC2-patch screen also in the game.
and then the start of the game where Crash Bash hangs....... (sony entertainment presents screen).
i hear music, but not any folowwing screens and voice.

I tried it with PSXCopy and then the game goes beyond the intro and selection screen, then when going to the game itself it hangs at the 'LOADING' screen.

How can it be solved. what is THE solution as i am getting crazy of not getting it backed-up.

I even burned at 1-speed. some other peeps have the same problem i heard. maybe some solved it ? can they tell me how.... please....
