Fifa 09 crashes in online mode (with nodvd)
Hi guys! Just wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem: I have Fifa 09 purchased and updated to the latest. When I enter the online mode and try to start a match, after some seconds the game crashes?! I use the FIFA 09 v1.1/MULTi5 [6.3 MB] Fixed Executable Done by BATTERY?! Anyine else is having the same trouble?
P.S. I tried this on 3 different pc, still the same thing. The LAN multplayer mode works fine! |

FIFA is on-line activation = no DVD required in drive to play.
If you have purchased FIFA why you are using a crack? an more... why going online with a crack? I see smoke in the air! |

Woow! Now I really feel nooby! Never knew there was such procedure with 09?! Tried what you advised me and it worked! The only thing is that it takes some time to open the game when you double click to the icon on my desktop! Is this the same for you guys?

it's protection related.

And that's why I'm gonna buy PES and not FIFA
![]() Bioshock and Mass Effect were enough for me. Well, more money given to small companies. X3: Terran Conflict it's on my shopping list. Maybe Europa Universalis3: Complete Edition will replace Red Alert3. Football Manager will replace FIFA Manager 09 and so on. As you can see, there are a lot of games out there, ready to replace whatever EA is offering. They need a harsh lesson coming from our wallets and not only from our mouths. Though I understand the need for profit, I also understand the fact that whatever they've tried didin't worked and only the honest customers are suffering. And when you have to spend a lot of time on a paid support phone, it's like paying for the game 3 times. And that won't solve the problem, in most of the cases. Online petitions, letters are not working on the big corporations. The only language they understand it's the profit. Show them the fact that without their customers ,the profit can't exist and they will start listen. Worked on Ubi when they've used Starforce(granted they didn't learn the lesson, as they've adopted on Far Cry2 the same protection as the one used by EA), so lawsuits plus product embargo it's the key. And coming from Sony there is a new idiocy: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6199672...ewstop;title;2 |

so, where exactly are the 'honest customers suffering'?
i've got at least 5 activation based games on my pc, all activations (including the most recent one.. sacred2) was painless, took less time to activate than it did for me to enter the serial number..... did i suffer?

TippeX, there 's only 1 'honest customer' (as you say) complaint about the FIFA crack but after 2 posts, he realize it doesn't requires the crack to play the game. Also, you must be used to "suffer" and now you don't feel the pain
![]() I feel sorry for your fingers, but you should know there are keys on the keyboard that hurts ![]() __________ I don't buy a game based on what protection it has/hasn't cause never get trouble with it. If a game is good (based on previews, hands-on, reviews) I buy it. If the game doesn't has good reviews I try it and then I decide to buy it or not based on experience. The fact is, after I install a game I only uninstall it when am tired from it. If I burn all the activations I still can use the crack to keep playing. Games like NFS, C&C, FIFA has enough replay value to keep me playing more off-line than on-line. If the game gets cheap and I think it worth, then I buy a new license. And there is another thing: I have the whole NFS collection. The 5 activation limit will never be reached because in 2010 a new NFS will come out and I'll buy it. So will happens with C&C (I hope )

Maybe you should take a ride on the Bioware forums. As you might know, you can't post there unless you've registered your game. Same goes now for Spore. There are pages of discussions about the adventures of the people who practically are forced to buy new copies of the games. If you call all those people pirates, well, i don't know what to say...And I repeat myself: I'm not renting games and i'd rather not buying whatever I consider that goes too far in terms of protecting IP. Did anyone bothered to read the article from the link I've posted???
It's my right to vote with my wallet. Not going to buy FIFA(not that I've bought one since 2003, changed on Pro Evolution Soccer and my money are going at Namcofrom 4-5 years now). And be honest: that DRM didn't stopped any of the EA games from being pirated from hell and back. Like I've said: I've had my "painless" fun with Bioshock and Mass Effect (stupid me, I couldn't resist buying the last one, as I am a Bioware fan), so painless is debatable. One Windows reinstall and a videocard upgrade reduced my activations at Mass Effect at 1. And if you read EULA carefully you will see that the extra activations are given by EA on a case by case basis. Funny, isn't it? It's okay with Sacred2, as they've said that the DRM will be removed in two years (and I'm inclined to believe Ascaron, as they did that with the previous Sacred), but don't tell me that EA it's all heart. And please, do bother and read the article....And if a game is good, so what? There are limits to what a corporation can do. In-game ads? Painless indeed. The people that were playing the latest FIFA or the last Battlefield and saw campaign ads for Obama must be thrilled, right?? In case that you've missed that, EA did this little thing to their loyal clients. So what's next after that???There are a number of lawsuits initiated against EA and the use of that DRM and you might remember the fact that some customers banded a few years ago against Ubisoft that was using Starforce at the time and Ubi lost the lawsuit. So there was a precedent. And the moderators and the staff that were on the EA forums are now in the silentio stampa. Also there was issued a warning ban for anyone that dares to discuss about that particular DRM. There is another lawsuit against EA initiated by the people who bought Sims2 and they've seen the DRM changed from Safedisc to SecuROM. If I was willing to agree on certain things, I'm not willing to agree on others. In-game ads = wrong, the right for someone to monitor my activity while I'm online(Sony, see the link)=wrong. I'm not suffering for any EA game, as all of them can be replaced with something similar. EA it's not exactly the most creative company out there. Now back to my 1.65 King's Bounty - The Legend. Sorry for the long post, but people giving up on their rights so easily are making my blood boil. |

![]() And I read the post on that link. Players are not equals. Some players like you wolfsrain wants their game free to play whenever they like but other just play that game for 6 months maybe 1 year and then move on to another game. That's why many players ignores what kind of DRM the game will have, and that why corporations like EA doesn't care about player like you (don't take it personal). I just want to see what kind of protection the "mighty" Blizzard will use in their upcoming games: SC2 & D3 Things are not going well in the EA empire after Tiberium cancellation also (some comments are from the staff) |

The reason Tiberium got cancelled was it wasnt up to par, the developer failed to give the promissed finished article.
As a publisher you dont want to churn out crap do you? Besides EA have huge games lined up, Mirrors Edge, etc so everything is peachy in EA land I assure you

Mirror's Edge for PC was pushed in 2009. No actual reason given. Tiberium, don't know what to say. I still remember the Renegade fiasco. Maybe someone was scared of the ghosts.
Nando, I have a lot of games that I'm replaying from time to time: NFS 2, 3 and 5 are on that list, any Bioware/Black Isle/Obsidian/Troika title, Hidden and Dangerous2, Operation Flashpoint, Europa1400, just to name a few. So yes, if a game is that good, that makes me to want play it again from time to time, then I'd like to install that game anytime I want. Dead Space has the controls as bad as Alone In the Dark from what I gather and that little thing it's mentioned in every review I've seen so far. NFS Undercover, dunno, as I still remember the "joys" of NFS Pro Street ( Test Drive Unlimited was by far better and funnier). FIFA Manager 09, same DRM, but I still want to see at least some screenies and if they bring anything new (i pretty much have a nice collection of EA Football managers, though I've skipped some years like 2005, 06 and 07). The rest of the sports from EA, not interested (my last NHL from them was 2000 and my last NBA was 2001, never played Tiger Woods, Madden or Rugby). And C&C: Red Alert3, maybe I will pick it up when they are doing another anthology, so no rush). The Games I'm looking this autum are: NWN2: Storm of Zehir, Still Life2, Gothic3: Forsaken Gods, Dungeon Lords 2(doubtful they will manage to release it this year, but one can hope), Tomb Raider Underworld, maybe COD5 and Fallout3 (though from what I've seen in the gameplay movies posted on you-tube, movies taken from the leaked XBox 360 version, not exactly thrilled about Fallout3) |

Nope, the release for PC was pushed for 2009. Only XBox 360 and PS3 versions will be out on that date. I might as well buy the XBox 360 version alltogether with the console, as I plan to add an XBox 360 to my gaming room (I've waited to buy a big screen TV, first ). More consoles will be added later ( I have already a PS2, a PSP and a DS, but definitely I'm going to add a Wii and a PS3). Luckily the console games that I'm intersted it in are few. So the most strain on my wallet comes from the PC side. All my friends are telling me that I'm spending too much on games. What can I say: old habits are dying hard, especially when you are playing since 1986 (started on Arcade, been through Commodore, Amiga, NES, Master System, SNES, Mega Drive, PS One, skipped Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube, Game Gear, Game Boy series and XBox).I still have some of those consoles, though now their games are looking old, but many of them are still fun to play. |

I still play streets of rage, sonic and combat cars all for megadrive/genesis. They don't look old to me. And they're still fun.
Just like Starcraft 1 doesn't look old to many south-koreans ( watch this: Starcraft VOD of the Day ) |
