Fixed EXE files over Image files

hi all

with almost all my games i always try and get the mini image files....never got in trouble when playing online with those.

im not sure about the fixed exe files.

here is the Question.

when using fixed exe files does PB or anyother anti-cheat service detect wrong filesize for the exe and ban you?

how does this work...
i bought a few games that have no image files avail and i am getting tired of swapping discs and even worse i have 4 sata drives in a raid0 and no more serial ports.....my dvd rom is sata and i had a rosewill sata card but its giving me BSoD in vista for some reason

i dont want to hook up an ide dvd-rom....i really hate those cables and my case is packed already.

thanks

the main games that i need a cd in drive are crysis, r6: vegas and i think bf2142 needs one too not sure cause BF2 has a mini image so maybe bf2142 does to...i just installed vista and all my games so i need to go thru each one and see which ones have mini images

actually some games i have the images for i dont install any anti blacklist app like yasu....i just install daemon tools and have at it

i would really prefer to use all fixed exes if they dont get you banned when you are online

using fixed exe's online is a bad idea, pb definately will spot it...

for online gaming the best thing to do is...
1. try and use a mini/maxi image and the original exe files
2. if the above fails (for some reason) you have no real alternative but to use the original disk and original exe files...

most of the things you're asking are covered in the faq.. not having a cd/dvd drive linked to your machine is a bit strange however, and sometimes the anti blacklisting tools don't work, nforce mboard / raid etc don't matter so really, the only thing you can do is experiment.. there's no generic answer / solution ...

Wow makes you wonder what the space is for huh.

For someone to remove a DVD rom to put in another HD or 2. ((Would have been funny to have 3 SATA and DVD rom in a raid)).

Looks like its external caddy time.

and i think bf2142 needs one too
Yep BF2142 will need the disc in a drive to play online! I know a cracked exe or a mounted mini image will not work with this game for online play.
I have not tried a mounted 'Full' image though?

the good thing about online gaming is that a lot of MP .exe´s dont have copy protection on them (cod4,hellgate london) for example.
