PS2 UK version ( no utility disc-please help)

I have just received my new PS2, and upon opening the box I discovered that I had no utility disc, does this mean that I will be unable to play backup games???
Is the UK version different from the rest??
I have downloaded all the relevant software for backing up and patching PS2 games but according to the instructions they all require the utility disc, is this true or is there another way that I can play Backup games. Please help!!

afraid so the UK PAL has the utiliy disc built in to prevent disc swapping and playing copied games. unlike the rest of the world!!! who got a util disc.

We will have to wait until the mod chip comes out or someone develops a boot disk to get round it like they did on the dreamcast.

Waiting with you m8
