Just take your time study the pics and follow directions. Ive been chipping psx's and ps2's for years now and never had a problem. Use a 15 watt grounded plug soldering iron and some really thin wire. I get my wire from radio shack its called wrapping wire. Tin the wire and hold it in the spot where you need it, then just touch it with the soldering iron. Make sure all you connections are true to the pics and youshould be set

Look Tacitus, I am a newbie in this forum so i dont want to step out of line or offend anyone but nobody twisted your arm and made you try to install the chip, most sites clearly state that if you do not have soldering experience get a profesional to do it so if your PS2 got ruined you dont have anyone to blame but YOURSELF! As far as modchips being worthless, well everybody is entitled to their own opinion. You seem to be about as bright as a 2 watt light bulb so if you dont post here anymore i'm fairly confident nobody will miss you. Sorry , hope i didnt offend any of the other members with this reply but people should take blame for their own actions.

That's because the current and new generation of modchips aren't designed in your wonderful USA. The Italians have done the OrigaChip and the Brits of have done the NEO and Messiah chips. Modchip.com is an American chip manufacturer (I got my first chip from them).

Anyway, you're welcome to go away if you can't face up to your own stupidity. This forum is full of advice to newbies and it is a fool who thinks he knows better when he knows JS.

Otherwise, you're welcome to rewind, get your modchip professionally installed and be prepared to be helped by the experts on this Forum.

I took one look at the warnings on sites selling the chips and decided that someone else should fit it for me!
Why bother risking a £200 machine for the sake of saving the £35 cost of a "professional" doing the job for me??!! It is a false economy - I have saved that much by my first visit to Blockbuster.

Hi,

Same here, i knew what modchip i wanted but didnt wanna damage my ps2 for saving 30quid soldering it myself (chipped loads of ps1s) so i got my ps2 with a modchip already installed, saved a load of hassel and ive got piece of mind knowing it was installed properly and if i have in problems i can give them a buzz. If you messed up installing one wire on your USB mod then it can be fixed, dont flame what hundreds of others have done loads of times before. If you didnt really know what you were doing in the first place then you should of never of opend your ps2.
