The COD4 failure due to the corrupted file.

Hi,

I've the legal COD4 game.
Everything worked just fine, until I've got to the ActII "Heat" level.
During the level loading, the game crashed with the following error:
"Fastfile for zone 'village_defend' appears corrupt or unreadable (code 107.)"

What can be done about.

Thanks.

i would say, try without a crack and if that doesn't help, reinstall the game completely.

Here's what Activisons Support page says about COD4 Fastfile errors:

Fastfile for zone errors

Question
I am getting a "Fastfile for zone" error.

Answer
Fastfile errors are most likley due to a bad install. Uninstall the game, delete the game folder, and then reinstall the game and the patches. Make sure that you do not install any third party maps/mods/skins of any type.

If re-installing does not help then you may have a bad disc. Try replacing the game at the store you bought it at. Remember that if you replace the disc you will need to uninstall and re-install again.

If the game still does not work after uninstalling and replacing the disc then you may have a bad piece of hardware like a bad harddrive or stick of RAM. In this case you will have to contact your computer manufacturer to find out how to test and replace any hardware that may be failing.
