Sims 2 Pets - No-CD problem

Hi,
this is my first post here. I have The Sims 2 with Nightlife and Pets + Family Stuff, H&M Stuff and Teen Stuff.

With original DVD/CDs, everything works fine, but I want to use the game without Pets DVD. I can play the game if H&M and Teen Stuff in not installed, with version 1.6.0.259 fixed exe.

But when I install those Stuff packs, Sims upgrades to version 1.6.0.277 and I couldn't find fixed exe for that version. The game doesn't work with older fixed exe. The game starts normally, but when I try to go to some family, game crashes (some system error).

I tried to use POSEDEN-SIMS2EP4.ISO Maxi-Image mounted with Alcohol 120%, but that didn't work. The game still asks original DVD.

What could I do?

Teen Stuff depends on Bon Voyage exe. Also it has a changed protection(Bon Voyage has a custom protection SD4+SecuROM7).
H&M Stuff depends on Seasons exe which also has an updated protection.
I'm also gonna add a list of the correct install order for future reference:
1.Sims2
2.Sims2 patch v.1.0.0.1022
3.Sims2: University
4 Univeristy patch v.1.1.0.284
5.Sims2: Nightlife
6.Nightlife patch v.1.2.0.355
7.Sims2: ChristmasParty Pack(aka Holiday Party Pack for UK version of Sims2)
8.Sims2: Open For Business
9.Open For Business patch v.1.3.0.351
10.Sims2: Family Fun Stuff
11.Family Fun Stuff patch v.1.4.0.142
12.Sims2: Glamour Life Stuff
13.Sims2: Pets
14.Pets patch v.1.6.0.277
15.Sims2: Happy Holiday(not the same with the Xmas pack)
16.Sims2: Seasons
17.Seasons patch v.1.7.0.158
18.Sims2: Celebration Stuff
19.Sims2: H&M Stuff
20.Sims2: Bon Voyage
21.Bon Voyage patch v.1.10.0.122
22.Sims2: Teen Style Stuff
23.Sims2: Free Time(will be released next month)

Teen Style Stuff depends on the Bon Voyage crack for v1.10.0.122. So the game will launch with the updated Bon Voyage executable.

@wolfsrain: could you, please, make a FAQ entry out of this nice list and send it to me in E-mail? Thanks.

Okay, I'll do it a bit later(work now). I also intend to add the list of protections for future references.

Great. Then we'll only have to find out into which FAQ/sticky shall we put this game-specific (!) information...

I copied above mentioned crack to c:\program files\ea games\pets\TSBin, but the game didn't work.

So I should have Bon Voyage expansion pack also that I can use that crack or what ???

You would need Bon Voyage too, yes. Also in order to play H&M Stuff you need the Season expansion. The Stuff packs can be added as long as you have the required expansions to play. They can theoretically be added later, but that usually messes up the whole installation. So it's better to stick to that order. If you don't have the needed expansions to play the stuff packs, it's better to install those later, when you buy the required expansions. Most of the older stuff packs and sims expansions can be found in bargain bins at decent prices. As for the latest, well, just wait a bit more and they will be cheaper. Once Sims2:Free Time will be released the price of Bon Voyage should go down.
P.S.:Joe, I've sent you the updated FAQ at your listed mail. Sorry for yesterday, but I had a lot of work, so I've got home late and kinda of crashed in bed directly.

I have all the games + addons...These were all installed using Teen stuff last..Then the 200 or so reg entries were taken out & the hole lot had an installer made for it.(setup factory)..3x DVd5's & it loads all games & plays fine without any cds or dvds...I used the sims 2 deluxe as the base..

My first post here...

Okay...english is not my first language..so forgive me, if this has been asked already..

I bought the sims2 Deluxe, Pets, and kitchen and bath stuff pack.

I have to use the Pets dvd to play, all is fine from there...but I want to use a no cd, and I found none for the Pets EP, after it is patched with the EA patch.
is there a patched Pets no cd somewhere ?

Thank you,

Rosie :0)

Okay! it works finaly, with what BarryB posted :0)
I just did it wrong the first time I tried...don»'t mind me, sorry

can't be so, both protections are not able to 'co-exist'...
safedisc and securom signatures are not possible on the same disk...

okay...sorry, me again.

So it was working, with what Barry posted, I mouted the maxi image on a drive, double click on my Pets shortcut on my desktop, and played the game with everything from Deluxe, Pets, and kitchen and bath stuff.

But then, I had to reformate my PC...
(downloaded a nasty something)
All is well now, except, now the maxi image dosen't work...I mounted the same way, did the same things...but I am asked for the cd...

What should I do ?

Thanks,

Rosie :0)
