CDRWin help

I'm a newbie at this backup stuff - have downloaded the trial version of CDRWin and when I try to backup a disk (whether it be PSX or any other), i get a message "Error: Unable to create file C:\temp\image.cue" I haven't changed any of my settings as I am worried I will muck up the software which came with my burner. Can anyone out there help. I have a Sony CRX-140E burner and an Atapi CD Rom.

Is this the best software to use for backing up Playstation games or is there another one I should try.

lyn it is best to create image file and call this game.bin or something (enter .bin just to be safe)then it will create 2 files the .bin file and the .cue file leave these in the same directory don't copy them elsewhere. the button is 3rd in from the right top row. then go to the top left button and burn copy from the image file you created onto your HD.

Ok, The reason why you are getting that error is because the TEMP folder is not located in the patch C:\
That was just a default path cdrwin gives to save the image to and since you dont have C:\Temp you can either create that folder in that directory or just pick a new location where to save the cue and bin files to. You can change the location and name by clicking the command button with ... next to the location text box.

Dont try CloneCD...its ridiculous that when there is a slightest problem, instead of finding a solution some people just recommend CloneCD....CloneCD is not the answer to the problem.........The message that I posted earlier is the solution to your problem...so do the right thing, read that message and stick with CDRWIN because CloneCD doesnt support all cd-r drives, does not always make perfect copies and you can patch clone cd disks.

Yes, definitely stick with CDRWin, it is very easy to use. If you want the settings, then go to Consolesource.com, they have directions on using CDRWin with the proper settings.
The best thing to do is to create a Playstation folder in one of your drives. Preferably one that is not used much, if you have more than one.
Example, I have 3 drives I use my E: for playstation games only, because they will take alot of memory, so delete them after backup.
In CDRWIN, say I have copied RESIDENT EVIL
When I extract the tracks, I save as
E:\Playstation\Residentevil.bin
Use the settings provided by consolesource.com and you will be fine. Any more questions, email me.
