Is there a time limit when to change from boot disk to backup ?

Neo2 installed with 16Mb Memory Card. Swapping to backups working OK, but I guess there is an issue of timing involved here.
From the moment I press START on the memory manager window and the screen asks me to load game and press X, how long do I have to eject the boot disK and load the backup disK ?
Cheers for any help on this,

I've tried this a few times with varying time limits including minutes and it works OK with Memory Manager 16.

OrigaChip. I don't see whay that chip shold be different in this respect from NEO. Maybe I'm wrong in my thinking, Dust2Dust - but I rather thought that the modchip had done it's bit by the time that Memory Manager 16 gets hold of things.

Still, we should hear a bit ore from Tingle especially detail of what goes wrong and what he thinks the time limit might be.

hmm
i disagree charlie
all thats done u loaded memory 16(my case fmextreme)
chip still has to enable u boot backup
hmm put a diff way
if u had no chip
u could still get this far
memory or fmxtreme would still boot
still give u option to put your game in
but it would boot as i think this were chip starts
before this it just reads loads my fmxtreme disk
