when i download the rar from gamecopyworld for 1.8 there is no exe in the rar. where can i get hold of it?

EDIT: oops just tried out of blue and it works! haha! thanks for help didnt know bout 1.8 til this forum

it's a .dat file, not an .exe

I have done what you said, copied the fixed .dat file, but it doesn't seem to work.When I start the game I'm getting an error that windows had to shut it down, also I get an OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY error... which is very unlikely with my video card

Is the game working when you use your original disc without cracked files ???

Yes it was, before I updated it to 1.08 it was working

I have read everything thats in this thread but im still having soooo many problems lol to begin i have no idea how to install the patches so than to my understanding u have to install the DAT file thats inside the folder to retailexe folder in the games directory, which i did and nothing the game still asking me for a cd in order to run. Than i read that the DAT files are the EXE crack from there im even more lost so i tried changing the .DAT file to .exe and it turned into a exe icon with the command & conquer 3 logo so i placed it in the main directory taking out the original exe and tried running it and an error poped out even before the game loads. So than which patch do i use ?? theres a mentioning of the latest patch 1.8 which only comes with the DAT file where does that go into? and do i need to change the DAT into exe or i am doing it alllll wrong thanks for the help.

You overwrite the cnc3game.dat in your game installation directory with the cnc3game.dat in the crack package. What's so complicated about this?!

I did just that and the error keeps coming up direct3d error with a huge list of dame.dat names

Look, install the game and the 1.08 patch then look for this directory:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Command & Conquer 3\RetailExe\1.8

and copy the cnc3game.dat from the 1.08 crack into this folder!!

Easy peasy!

Thats exactly what i did and i keep getting an error and a few of cncgame data files appear in a list before the game loads and it closes everything down. WTF
