PS2 Problems

i was playing 007 and the game frooze so i shut it off and now the power just turns on i cant eject the disk,and no picture is coming on the screen.
whats wrong with my ps2??

Probably the disk has got caught on the lip of the spindle - sometimes happens when the PS2 is vertical without a stand but can happen anyway esp. on earlier models.

Look up the "Shit!!!!!!" thread and one of my posts detailes which screws to undo to get the top off (at least on my PS2) andpoints to the 4 smaller screws to get the DVD cover off (carefully). Then ease the disk over the spindle lip to get it free and lift it off. Put it all back togther and it shouln;t happen again too soon.

Of course that may not be the problem, but if it is you have the answer.

i took it out but it still wont eject or any picture wont come up on screen
is something wrong with my modchip???

What's the history of the PS2 and the modchip? It could be anything. If you power the PS2 with no disk and the screen is blank and everything is connected properly, then either there is a short arising from modchip installation or the PS2 itself is shot.

I had a similiar problem earlier this year with my other ps2 , same symptoms.

after investgation i found that the small clip that holds the laser ribbon cable to the laser housing had came loose and eventually the the ribbon cable obtained a small cut and stopped the laser from working 100%.

Bought myself a new laser and fitted , ps2 now working fine.

Ok might not be your problem but you never know !
