Will i need a Mod-Chip
I have PSX and i wanna upgrade it with a Mod-Chip.Now i heard on Gamecopyworld that there are patches for PSX-Games.Do i need a Mod-Chip now or not? And are there differences between the Mod-chips?Because i can get one for 25 German marks one for 50 DM and now i heard that there is an Gameenhancer? What is it and will i need it for better playing. And by the way: where is the difference between a normal PSX Cable like:Scart 2 PSX and a RGB Cable?
Thnx for helping me. |

You still need a mod-chip or a GameEnhancer inorder to play copied patched games. A Game Enhancer is a type of what you might call an external mod chip, it plugs into the one of the ports in the back of the console. With the game enhancer you have to perform the swap trick where you first put in any original game then it will stop spinning and then you put in the copied game and press start. An advantage of the Game Enhancer is that you dont have to open up and re-wire the playstation inorder to install a modchip which might damage it if you dont know anything about circuits.

You will need any original psx game that works with your system. It doesnt have to be an original of the game you burned. Any original will do, even demos. All you need it for is so that the Game Enhancer can read the start up code (the code doesnt copy over to the cd-r)
