Do I need to use swaptrick if i have a modchip?

I have a Stealth 5 *-wire Chip

To play backups, do I need to perform somekind of swap trick, or do i just put the backup in and start the PSX?

yep, just put in the cd & play the game.. that is if you have an internal (soldered) mod chip.. if you have the external kind, that plug in to the back of the psx, then you'll have to do a swap trick..
