Crash Bash Copy Protection

I used CDRwin to make an image of Crash Bash to my comp, then i applied the patch using PPF-0-MATIC, and then copied onto a CD-R, all seemed well. I put the CD into my PSX and it loaded up and the screen to say that it had cracked came up but then it got onto 'sony computer entertainment europe presents.............', then it froze!, does this happen to anyone else?

Please help

make a 1:1 copy using cdrwin, applying the
ntsc->pal (or vise versa) if neeeded. go to megagames.com in the "psx utilities" section, download the action replay game shark cd
burn it to a cd-r using cdrwin

then go to code edit & enter these codes
D002D51C 023A
8002D51E 1000
D002D494 000A
8002D496 1000

after that, load the game. and it should work.

it worked on the ntsc version for me. i just made a 1:1 copy using cdrwin, booted up the gs cd, entered the codes, and then loaded the crash bash game. and it worked fine for me.

i'm not sure if you even need to apply the pal/ntsc patches when using the gs cd.. i've never tried playing an import game.. so that could be the only way that it might not work. but its damn well worth a shot. at worst it will cost you 2 cd-r's, at best it will cost you 1 cdr and you have a working copy of the game.

dr ed,

is the copy of crash bash you have patched or modified in any way? because the gameshark cd has problems loading it when it is patched. and you wont need the patches if the gameshark cd will do what you need it to. try it.. i encountered this problem when i tried using cheat codes for
'nfl gameday 2001' when i patched it so the mod detection would be gone, and then i tried using gameshark cheats, and it wouldnt load. just using a 1:1 copy.. lemmie know how it goes.
