Fat also has a max file size of 2 gigs which could cause problems with games having huge .pak files.

I don't remember any game that had files such huge files... Most maxed out at 1-1.5 Gigabytes (Quake 3-4 engine'd games, FEAR etc.).

There is one game that needs NTFS, Condemned - Criminal Origins:
CondemnedA.Arch00 = 6,679,167,735 bytes (6.21GB) Amazing what rubbish facts people remember

Interesting!
I've just built a new system and my mate came up with his copy of DiRT to try on my PC to see if it works with the 1.1 crack, and it does! He has: AMD FX-51 2.2 Ghz, 2GB RAM, XFX 7950GT AGP, MSI Mobo. I have: AMD 2.8Ghz Dual Core, 2GB RAM, XFX 7950GT PCI-E, Asus Crosshair mobo. So not sure why it now works? I also tried Empire at War with v1.05 crack, and that now works too? The v1.05 crack would not work in my previous system, so what's going on with these crackers? Dragunov/neliz does the original DVD work with the 1.1 patch? If it's only the crack that doesn't work then you can hardly take it back

Same problem here with both versions, 1.0 and 1.1 With or without crack, I get the same error. My computer: AMD XP 2400 1,5Gb RAM NVIDIA 6600GT (has pixel shader 3.0) ABIT NFS v2 WTF is wrong? Why some people can run the game and others not? Seems an stupid random error... |

Game requires a SSE2 processor. AMD XP is not a SSE2.
* AMD K8-based CPUs (Athlon 64, Sempron, Turion 64, etc) * Intel NetBurst-based CPUs (Pentium 4, Xeon, Celeron, etc) * Intel Pentium M and Celeron M * Intel Core-based CPUs (Core Duo, Core Solo, etc) * Intel Core 2-based CPUs (Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, etc) * Transmeta Efficeon * Via C7 |

Still, doesn't explain why the 1.1 crack won't work on a mates AMD FX-51, that supports SSE2, but the original 1.1 does?
