Here's a question I hope one of ya can help me with. The following is copied from TDU forums, where I have yet to recieve any help on the matter.

"I had to do some maintenance on my main computer the other day so I installed TDU on a second computer to play while my main was down.. now I have a buddy who is staying with me and he has his own copy and would like to play on a new account on one of the computers so I'm trying to figure out how to put his key code in the game. I've already tried uninstalling, removing any traces of TDU from registry I could find and then reinstalling the game but it never comes up asking for a key code."

Would anyone know where this game stores the installed key code on my computer? or a way to force it to ask for a new code? (I'm not asking for a code, just where it's stored on computer after install)

Nevermind I found it myself.. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Test Drive Unlimited
in a .txt file labeled CDKEY

Test Drive Unlimited is a very buggy game. I got BSOD with this game. I regret buying it. Now that Silverfall is released I would like to have bought it instead of Test Drive Unlimited. I also saw in nforce.nl that there it is crack by VITALITY : Silverfall-VITALITY

In my opinion Test Drive Unlimited should be considered as an early beta and not final. Friends do not buy this game. Atari destroyed an excellent game and released it earlier than it should.

Outrageous system requirements, poor optimization and loads of bugs. Atari continues the trend set by the last releases from Ubisoft and a few other big companies. Of course guilty of the game problems are: the pirates and the users. The users because they don't upgrade their hardware at every six months and they are reluctant to do the beta test for the big companies.
This game would have been better with a later release, than being released in the poor state that is now. I'm looking in parallel at a very nice release: Jade Empire and i discover that there are very few bugs, a good optimization and not so outrageous system requirements(Geforce6600 or Ati X800 are, by now, the standard).
You can't sell on a market that you disrespect constantly, you can't impose a change by putting high end system requirements.
Compared with NFS Carbon, this game could've been a lot better.Maybe even stole the crown from EA. And it fails miserably, because they tried to respect the deadline imposed by the publisher.
Yeah, I agree another game destroyed by ATARI.

I dont know what everyone is talking about by the game not working.. the only thing i see wrong with it is that it autoruns when inserted into dvd-rom tray even if you dont want it too. other than that the game runs smooth and great fps, no lag and gfx are set to max. i'm usuing MS Steering wheel and it works great too. the thing i find dumb about the game though would be most of the lame missions, that basicaly repeat them self's with just a slight variation... i found the car delivery missions to be the good ones, as with the parcel delivery.
and why are there no Honda or Acura or even Subaru... these are some of the finnest car companies arround, a hell of allot better than a Ford or Chevy shit!

well anyways just wanted to let yous know i dont have any probs what so ever, and i been playing now for about a week, and i even had the game running for 13hours strait and still ran smooth after 13 hours of continues play.

Atari did a swell job on this release a lot better that the previus TD releases, wich i thought were all lame and crappy, with no real car physics. though this one is a little off as well... it is close and makes for some fun driving.

drifting is only done if you take off the driving aid, and what a joy with all the winding roads..

OHH yah! the reason i came here was to ask where the NO CD file is? i got the one from the site but it's not a no cd file its a 3.2 gig mini image that still needs to be mounted... i allready created a dvd image, i dont need the mini image to just save 500MB i wanna save 3gig's of HDD space.
a nice little no cd .exe file would be nice.

Read the forum FAQ on how to make mini images use much less hard disk space (and a lot more).

Was on the phone to a friend of mine tonight who say he has the exact same problem as the original poster, so I popped on here to try and help, told him to uninstall Blindwrite, but he's never heard of it, so I'd imagine him not to have it installed.

Not sure if this is relevant, but he tried downloading some sort of Maxi-Image, but when attempting to mount in Daemon Tools got a message (I forget exactly what it was), something about being unable to mount the image as the file was not accessible?

I made an image of the DVD with Alcohol 120% (v1.9.5.2802) with DPM set to "High" and with read speed "1x", mounted with Daemon Tools (v4.08HE/SPTD v1.39), virtual drives hidden with Y.A.S.U. (v1.07) and it's running without a flaw.

If you get an error message that you have to "put the original disc in the drive instead of a backup" then you're image isn't correct, i.e. DPM information is either missing or not properly. Create a new one with Alcohol 120% or CloneDVD or try the one from GameCopyWorld. Some people were reporting that you have to install the newest SPTD driver which is not yet included in Daemon Tools. From my experience it's not recommended as it's most likely not working with TDU.

In case you get the error message that there is "a problem with emulation software" then again there's something wrong with your image or try uninstalling all programs (except Daemon Tools of course) that create a virtual CD/DVD drive, for example Alcohol 120% or Virtual CD. In most cases the problem can be easily solved by uninstalling Blindwrite which is blacklisted by the newest SecuROM version. Test Drive Unlimited then should work with a backup image.

Does anyone have any idea why anyone get the error:

"Unable to Mount Image: File Not Accessible" when trying to mount a MDS Mini-Image in Daemon Tools?
