Instead of reinstalling the old copy, try first with the "Neverwinter Nights 2 v1.03.840 [ENGLISH] Fixed EXE" this "no cd" version works fine for me, and i´m using it with the spanish version. There´s no need to mount any image, just replace the files in the game folder (keep a backup of the old ones for futures updates)
