RMPS emulation is not working correclty

"original disc couldn't be found or authenticated.."

RMPS emulation is not working correclty or the disc is a bad burn.
Be sure you have the disc image from GameCopyWorld with RMPS info.

Stronghold 2 v1.3.1 [ENGLISH] Fixed CD-Image

The best option still, if you know how to take the image of your original disc w/ RMPS, you can do this with Alcohol 120%.
I'm sure there is a guide somewhere for this.. Google is your friend.

Uhm, don't you need to enable RMPS while burning the disc, too?!

So am I right in that there is no way to run this game without having a CD in the drive? I don't care about having a backup image work - I don't want to fetch a disc each time.

All of the advice thus far has been about getting it to work with a backup CD, right? Has anyone found a solution with a mountable image?

I just can't get it working!! HELP PLEASE !!

Hi all,

I am very new to all this game cloning, patching etc.

I have read through the entire thread of e-mails, followed numerous tips but just don't seem to come right.

I have version 1.3D of the Game, came on a DVD - I am in South Africa

My steps where as follows:

1. Downloaded the file SH2DISK2Image.rar
2. Extracted the file
3. Installed Alchohol 120% version 1.9.2 (Build 1705) - rebooted pc
4. Disabled All virtual drives in Alcohol 120%
5. I DON"T HAVE THIS OPTION "Under Options Enable Sub-Channel burning for SecuRom Games. (Middle of 3 Options)"
6. Burned the Image(“Needs Emulation) as a “NormalCD” at 24x.
7. I Uninstalled Alcohol 120% - Restarted Computer
8. Downloaded Daemon Tools v4.08HE
9. Installed it and enabled only the RMPS emulation.
10. Inserted the Newly Burnt Cracked Image in a PHYSICAL CD-ROM Drive!
11. The label now says SH2_DISC2
12. The game menu opens and when I click on Play, the following message appears (after about 30 seconds yes, yes I know):
Wrong disc inserted.
Please insert the original "Stronghold 2 Deluxe" CD/DVD.

13. Below is what comes up when the PC starts:

rundll32
Apoint
stsystra
igfxtray
hkcmd
igfxpers
WLTRAY
DVDLauncher (Power DVD)
ISUSPM
issch
VodafoneMC
SHSTAT
UpdaterUI
TBMon
jusched
Application launcher
qttask
OfflineFileSyn
faxctrl
MsnMsgr
ctfmon
googletalk
GoogleToolbarNotifier
Msmsgs
Skype
Adobe Reader Speed Launch
Bluetooth Manager

14. PC - P4 1.8 Ghz Centrino Duo, 1Gig Memory, 80 Gig HD, DVD-Writer

15. I noticed that the game version is 1.3D (don't know if this is the same as 1.3.1) I did try and install version 1.3.1 but it said that the currently installed version could not be updated, so I suppose 1.3D is a later version

16. If I thus want to create my own image for this game (to burn it on CD) how do I go about doing it?

17. I also tried to make an image of the DVD and copy it to another DVD (like DVD copy), this alos didn't work

I have thus so far wasted 2 CDs, 1 DVD and 9 hours of strugling.

PLEASE HELP !!!

I wonder if, with all this resident shit in your system tray, you still have enough memory left in your PC to run anything...

CTFMON is the Language Bar (text input services). Anyway, you shouln't have wasted time with explaining all this shit; it is obvious that a system so burdened with a lot of absolutely unnecessary and a few not really necessary softwares running all the time will not be able to function correctly. (Yes, software companies push their software into your face but you need to be smarter than that. Regular maintenance is necessary...)

Dunno if it was helpfull either but your explanations certainly gave me a good laugh!
This really did give me a chuckle:

Shows your style of humor and yes it appears you have a good one.

OT:

It looks like a DELL Laptop/Desktop PC with all the pre-loaded garbage they shove on Joe!

I bet there isn't a 'real' copy of the Windows CD so you can format and do a proper windows install without all that pre-installed crap. I bet you get some utils stuck on the HD you have to backup yourself and a 'recovery' type CD that stuffs all that crap back on when you re-install.

If I was buying a PC with a pre-installed OS, I'd want the genuine install CD's not some 'generic' recovery' disc. If twpret got rid of most of those processes the system would highly likely run a lot better!

Grumpy, at gone 2 in the morning you have to find something to do while waiting for a TV program to start!!

rundll is an exe used to launch dll's, like system components etc.. its pretty common to see it used... because dll's are not executable in their own right (a program typically needs to load them via loadlibrary or in the imports) rundll32 is used for this purpose...

Its easier to see what is what if you use msconfig from start> run

Clearly states what is what.
