Newbie question about modchip (ps2)

Hi,

I'm thinking to get a modchip for my ps2 (EUR) (ar2 also) so I can play my backupped games.
Can I also play backupped US/JAP games with the chip??
The site says it's compatible with every PS2 model (US/EUR/JAP), but doens't mention anything about playin' the backupped games.
Any help is welcome, TIA!

yes of cause you will be able to play back-ups that the whole purpose of a mod-chip.

The Jap/Ntsc back-ups will work but they will be in blk/wht unless you apply PAL patch to the game before you burn it back to CD.

Also as Charlie will tell you, you can buy a Pal to Ntsc converter for your T.V from maplins which will also do the job for you.

That's Maplins UK. Take the Euro#### from Brussels, turn right at at Calais and patiently hope to get to Waterloo. Take a taxi to Maplins, High Holborn opposite Chancery Lane. Return the way you came.

Cheers

Hi,

Just adding on to what Deano has said, the Region X can also be used as a boot CD and also allows you to watch Mulit-region DVDs. I have one of these and a NEO2.2 mod chip and they work great together. Some people say that the Region X is the best boot out.

Good Luck

Dal

p.s. if you want info on chips and boot CDs ##### out www.playstationmods.com and unless your a dab hand with the soldering iron i suggest you get someone to fit the chip for a fee, that info is also on the same site just sticking my 2 pence in.
