Help first burn problem what next.

I burned my first Playstaion game today, but when I insert it into my Playstation2 it says insert playstation or playstation 2 formatted disc. I have a sony CRX140E burner and I used CDRwin to extract then PPFomatic to apply the Patch which said patch successful, then used CDRwin to record disc. Recorded at 1X and was successful. What else could it be, is there a separate patch for playstation2, I used a generic CDR to record onto. Please help

do you have a mod chip installed in your psx2?
if not thats your problem
