Error 66 problem and so on

Hey....I updated my box and all was well, and the 3 boxes I did also were fine. My question is that all of us had the Hitachi. I have a couple of buddies that want there's done also, but they are weary of the whole thing. They have Sammys I believe and if they do the update first...One.....Will they still get the error and TWO....If they do get the error...What exactly does the error do....Can you still play games....and just NOT ONLINE....or does it frag the box.

You need to use newer firmware. It seems that when MS created the patch, only old firmware was hacked/used. There was a switch to newer firmware versions for hacks that was released not too long ago (too late for MS to do anything). MS now records dvd information to prevent down-grading of firmware. You need to use specific firmware versions for their drives. Using just any will not work.
