IF ITS AN OLDER PSX, SUCH AS, 1001 OR 5501 THE LENSE NEEDS ADJUSTING.
THERE IS A SCREW ON THE SIDE OF THE LENSE. TURN IT CLOCKWISE ABOUT AN EIGHTH OF AN INCH OR A LITTLE MORE IF NEED BE. DO NOT TURN IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE NO MATTER WHAT. IF YOU TURN IT A WHOLE TURN AND IT STILL SKIPS THEN YOUR LENSE IS SHOT!
GET A NEW ONE.
GOOD LUCK

I agree with the above, your lense could be shot. But first try reducing the speed that you burn with. A mate of mine was burning fine at up to x10 with bush and memorex media, but then he bought some mmore cd's from a pc fair and if he burned at anything other than x2 speed then the movies, fmv and audio jumped. Try this first as it's a lot cheaper than replacing a lense.

Well I am currently burning with Maxell CD's and it seems the new games Like Driver 2 and Smackdown 2 jump a lot. I have looked for a screw next to my laser but I cant see one
Can anyone help??

Found a very simple way to improve video skipping if you turn the playstation upside down you will find that you get less or no skipping as the guides that the laser sled run on when reading become worn through use hence when you turn the ps upside down the laser is closer to the disc give it a go !

i have a 8x cd burner and i burn at 8x most of the time.. but if i encounter one that has video skipping is usually that the cd writer burned it too fast.. that means try burning it at a lower speed... 2x gives the best results! 8)
