Backing up Resident evil 3

I want to back up resident evil 3 and this game requires a patch.
Im not sure which version of the patch to use since i own a australian playstation.

What patch region do i use to backup austalian games?
italy ,UK ,US, Spain, .....?

I used the UK patch but the game dosn't boot.

i would have thought that it would have been a US but thats only a guess...

on a normal boot screen with the playstation logo what does it say underneath as that might hold the clue. mine in th euk says "playstation europe (so its pal)" tell me when u find out as im moving to adelaide next year
