Best PC games graphically?

Just wondering what some FF members think are the best PC games graphically? Let's just throw gameplay out the window for a second. Just list say your top 5 games that are visually stunning. I was playing Tomb Raider: Legend the other day maxed out everything with the next Gen option on and I was like....d*mn. And I'm only running a Geforce 6800 GT.

So what do you guys/gals think? Top 5 games everyone.

Edit: My bad this needs to go in the General Gamimg section. :S Mod please relocate this thread. Thanks.

I think Half-Life 2 in 1600x1200 with 8xAA and 16xAF, everything maxed out looks pretty stunning using that texture replacement mod (something with cinematic, can't remember the name right now). Its not one thing that looks superior in that game (like in Doom3 where character models looks stunning). In HL2 it is the overall quality that is great!

Other than that, well Prey looks pretty good too. F.E.A.R is also looking great.

so my list would be:
1. Half-Life 2 (with cinematic texture pack)
2. F.E.A.R
3. Prey
4. Doom3
5. Far Cry (was really impressive when released and still looks kinda good)

There you go..

Nice choice's there kosmiq.
4 of those games would definately be in my top five, the only one not making my list would be 'Prey' but only because I havent seen it yet.
You are right about the HL2 cinematic texture pack, it definately improves an already impressive looking game!
But I dont know if I could actually rate from 1-5. I would only be able to say they are the top 5 but in no specific order.
As well as the 4 kosmiq has mentioned I also think Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter looked very good!
Vietcong was impressive when it first came out.
Medal of Honor Pacific Assault looked good, Men of Valor also looked good.
Even Need for Speed Most Wanted looked impressive.
There are just to many games to narrow it down to the top 5, let alone pick the top 1!!
There are many other games which could possibly appear on anyones list.
Still waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to appear and also 'Crysis' is looking very impressive, from what I have seen anyway!

Btw, the only way to truly rate a games graphics is if you have viewed it with all settings turned up to the maximum.

@Grumpy
I couldn't agree more.

Thanks for the replies. Any others like to share their favorites and what they think is the best PC eye candy?

GRAW was very mixed in terms of quality in my opinion. Therefore I left it from the list. Some parts are very impressive while others are.. well less impressive...

Crysis is probably going to be the best looking game when its released, however I haven't played it so I left that one out too.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R could still turn up good but I doubt it will have killer graphics.

As for Prey, go get the demo. Its a nice little preview of it...

What protection are they using on the Demo? If any!
As you probably know I wont have anything to do with Starforce protected games and or Demo's.

Its not starforce atleast, if it had been I never would've installed it...

I haven't scanned either but I think its SecuROM or Safedisk. Haven't noticed anything installing and no strange behaviour from my system either...

Don't underrate it, with a 6800GT u can pretty much run anything with top graphics now a days, not to mention the GT is famous for being easily and safely overclocked without problem or risk to the Ultra version which is quite a kick in performance

@acal3000
I have the trailer of Crysis and it is basically 'Farcry 2'. It is the most impressive thing I have seen in terms of game graphics.

There is also a 14 minute video floating around the net but it is only a cam version that someone has taped of someone else playing the game. The picture quality of the cam is not very good but it still gives you a rough idea of what to expect from the game.

and btw Farcry is still one of my most favorite games.
