Well, you could start by posting more than 2 times
 If we ever need a new mod, we ask people we think would be suitable. You do not ask us. In a nutshell, if you manage to stay here at least a year and in that time contribute a lot, we might ask you. If we need someone.

In my experience, asking to be a mod is both embarassing to the mods and the poster itself. And is often frowned apon.
Also in my experience, the people who ask never turn out to be great mods anyway. Its as if they want power to misuse or feel bigger than others, not a good unbiased way.

I suggest you keep frequenting this forum for another 5 years, add useful comments, help people, don't get involved in too many flame wars if possible,
and then you might get invited to the group of moderators.
