Hey guys, Ever since I reformated my (system drive) C:\ and my F:\ drive the other day (both are Seagate 120g Sata ) I haven't been able to access my G: and H: drives, both are Seagate Sata 200g drives, and the both of them are nearly full.
Neither the G: or H: drives come up in My Computer but they are both visible in Device Manager and Disk Management but I can't access either of them. After days of p***ing around I ran the Seagate Seatools utility and I found out that neither of them had partitions, (or if they did they didn't show up) so I need to know if anyone has either had this problem before or knows how to fix it. I think repartitioning the drives might be the solution but I need to know does anyone know of any good software like Hard drive Mechanic or Partition Magic that can repartition a Hard Drive without loosing or corupting existing data. Both of these software Utilities claim to do exactly what I think I need but I'm a bit apprehensive about buying them as I've been bitten before. If anyone knows of a fix for this problem or some software that actually repartitions or recovers data I would really appreciate the help. So, everybody thanks for any help in advance. |

For recovering deleted files or recovering data on deleted/damaged partitions, you may want to try Ontrack EasyRecovery Pro. I never had the need to use it on my own hard disks, though. Also, when the partition table of a friend of mine got messed up, Linux's fsck.vfat did miracles on it!

Hey...
If those two 200GB's were compressed, and you were using XP, then when you reinstalled XP, you might loose your partition information on them... happend to me. As for your two hard drives not being recognized by windows, eg... no drive letter in "My Computer", you can right click on My Computer, click Manage... then click on Disk Management on the left pane... in the right pane, a panel will appear... scroll down on the BOTTOM pane and find the two drives... right click, and click Change Drive Letter, but you probably will have to repartition them first... so do this AFTER you get your data off them... I used GetDataBack for NTFS, which is probably what you will need, assuming you formated your two 200GB's with NTFS. Hope this helps!

Seems kinda simple, but If you had upgraded the disk to dynamic It could very well cause issues like this. Let us know how it goes. Thanks, Dieselbrad
