Space Rangers 2 has Starforce!

Its a great game. Too bad it's Starforce protected. I'm afraid Starforce will reak havok on my stystem again as it did in the past. I wish I would have known it had it on game disc 1 before I bought the game......

I bet it won't take more than a week or two for Reloaded to release a nice, clean no-CD patch.

Another good database of games and their copy protections offers copybase.ch.
Just follow the "PC Games Protection Database" link in my signature.

Q: There so many cracks for new SF3 protected games, but I can't see any crack at all for GT Legends, SC3 (possible ?) or ToCA3, even tho Reloaded is probably capable of cracking them ? Hm... kind of sad, but unless I cant do them myself I cannot blame them

what about the game ?

@ amazon you can read the following: one of the top 5 pc games of the year

Can anyone tell me if it´s worth to buy it ?

Product Description

Product Description
The Dominators have risen as an ominous new threat throughout the galaxy. As part of a planet responsible for producing war androids, it has become self-aware – producing The Dominators - a mutant force which has advanced beyond their sole programmed ability. They have developed their own intellect, force of will and agenda and are now striving to destroy everything in their path and expand their own horizons by conquering the galaxy…one planet at a time.

Product Description
Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators takes you back to the interplanetary action of the first big hit. It's now the year 3300, 200 years after the end of the Klissan War. Humankind is maintaining relations with four other developed civilizations of our Galaxy: the Maloqs, the Pelengs, the Faeyans, and the Gaalians. This time a new and an even more dangerous force is threatening the Galaxy -- a race of intelligent, murderous robots known as the Dominators. Humanity joins the Coalition who fight to repel their invasion. Prove your superiority not only in the space, but on many other planets as well. Fight smart, fight hard and take down these intelligent war machines that know no mercy.

Thanks ???

If you want a game that's worth the money then buy Galactic Civilizations II, it's worth every penny and 100% addictive, only £17.99 from Play.com.

dajunka, you really liked Galactic Civ2 better than Space Rangers 2? Have you even tried SR2?
I thought G2 was an improvement over the first game but I remember an old game called Masters of Orion 2 that had gameplay almost identical to this game and it was made in the 90's. 3 things I really hate about G2 is that there is no multiplay and you can't colonize planets with hostile envirements unlike Moo2. Other than the graphics and the ship cutomization, I think Moo2 had a slight edge over G2 even though its considered vintage now. Both games have bad AI in my opinion but in the 90's atleast Moo2 was ahead of its time. Come to think of it, multiplay would bore me to sleep on a game like that anyway. For good multiplay TBS, my vote would go to Civ4.

i think there is some difference. there are 2 games:

Space Rangers 2: Dominators
Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators

the crack released by reloaded is for Space Rangers 2: Dominators

they both have different covers.

They're both the same game. The first cover is from the UK release and the second is teh US.

I guess there is some difference in the copy protection on the two releases.
It would be interesting to compare the level of Starforce protection on the two versions.

Either they are not the same, or the no-cd patch sucks. I just bought the US release a few weeks ago and when I try to use the patch, the game crashes to desktop while playing.

This happens all the time when I try to get a mission from a planetery goverment, and they do not have a mission for me. I tested this. It kept crashing when I tried to get a mission. I restored, tried again, same thing. I went to a new planet, tried to get a mission, crashed. I finally got a planet to give me a mission, but the next try ... crash.

So, I re-installed and let it install Starforce (@#$%) and played with the CD in the drive. I then restored and tried those same planets that crashed. They didn't crash and the only thing they had in common was that none of them had a mission for me.
