Cool Heroes of Might & Magic IV Complete

I just bought this game, but because we have a couple computers and two of my kids and I will be playing this, I want to make a backup. When I try to burn this (on a dvd) using Alcohol 120% -latest version - it says there isn't enough room on the destination dvd, which means it is some sort of copy protection.

Could someone please give me some advice on how to mack a backup of this.

Many thanks in advance

Too large files on the original CD has been a (very primitive form of) copy protection on early games but that could be circumvented by copying the CD as CD rather than file by file. If you're copying the full DVD then it can't be a copy protection; I agree with noscript.

First of all check the protection with a-ray scanner or protectionID. Than make an image of the game. If it has Securom protection dump with DPM if not than without. Than check filesize on the orig. DVD. IF it's above 4.37GB you need a double layer DVD. But I think you'll have to play with image anyway cuz burnt DVD's mostly don't work.

Cool

I have dumped it using Alcolhol and it plays alright like that, the image is 7.7 gig. I never heard of games being on dual layer.
