The Godfather (PC) "cannot locate the DVD-ROM"

Ok am I the only person experiencing this prob?

I've been searching and either the answer is too obvious or there is something wrong

I have went on to get a 2nd different version of GF and after a clean install I still get the same error when trying to launch the game

"Cannot locate the DVD-ROM
Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart the application"

pleaaase help

Is it the original version of the game? Or is it a backup?

Are you running any virtual drives? e.g. Daemon Tools.

Now is it really original or is it not? You see, you cannot make a working backup of a non-original CD/DVD...!

Well, be patient until a crack/image becomes available, or create one yourself (for images, see the FAQ; for cracks, well, good luck! ).

i backup the game with alcohol 1.9.5, install it and i read that someone install anti-blaxx to play the game, so i did that too. after installation i mouth the image to the virtual drive and open anti-blaxx and TATA the game plays perfectly without any problems like "cant get out of cars" or "invert mouse"

correct me if im wrong but i thought the crack for the godfather doesnt work. Try mounting a image you made in alcohol or download the maxi image from GCW and mount in the lastest version of deamon tools. That should work. and isnt there a whole thread on the godfather. Try using the forum search next time, you might find all the info you need already on the site

Gurdok, does the original dvd exit with the same error ? If so, you have a problem with the game itself and should contact the publisher or try the developers' forum.
