thanx mates one quick question how do i know if its a real matrix infinity chip? also i found on this forum a patch that allows the ps2 to recognise the dl dvd. dl patcher what is your opinion on that? thanx again u guys are awesome!!

The DL Patcher is a good piece of software, but I believe the later versions of the Infinity software recognise DL backups without being patched.
As for being able to tell if your infinity is real, try to toggle some of the options in the Configuration menu - and reboot. If everything is saved and the system reboots fine, then chances are you have a real Infinity, but the only REAL way to tell is to flash that Infinity  (or open your console and look).Where did you get the mod installed or did you do it yourself?
