Charlie I got a quick question for you..

Just reading the last post regarding PSE pro evolution soccer being released in the U.K. a few days ago..I live in The U.S.A. and I was wondering what does this PAL/Ntsc stuff have to do with the games and the diffrent countries the software is produced? Im not to sure as to what region I might be in wether it be PAL or NTSc ...

anyhow does this mean if i were to get a copy of the PES from the U.K. would it work here in my ps.2 i bought in the U.S.??

Another question is im thinking of buying WInning Eleven 5 Japanese Version will be able to play it on my PS2 ?

thanks again Charlie

ANSWER: Your PS2 and TV will use the NTSC standard (525 line/60Hz refresh rate). Euro PS2s and TVs use 625 lines/50Hz. So when you put a PAL game into an NTSC PS2, PAL comes out of the AV port unless to take certain measures. If your TV has a SCART port, then a fully loaded scart lead between the PS2 and the NTSC TV will provide an AV signal with full synchronisation and thus a good picture for you. That's the method that UK PAL PS2 owners use and I have no reason to believe it doesn't work the other way round. Also you could look up the patches database on www.megagame.com and see if there is a PAL to NTSC patch that could convert a backup of the game to NTSC from PAL.

Is this an original game you're getting or a backup?

Another question is im thinking of buying WInning Eleven 5 Japanese Version will be able to play it on my PS2 ?

ANSWER: I've backed up WE5 (JAP) and converted it with the full English patch to English language. It works on PAL systems so it'll work on your system. It'll be an NTSC version so should play woth your standard AV lead.

Hope all that helps

####://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_patches_w.shtml for the patch (the one with the 100% handle).

Use CDRWin to copy the game from CD to HDD.
Use PPF-O-MATIC (downloaded from the megagames site) to patch
Use CDRWin to burn back to CD-R

Tutorials are at ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk - follow them and it'll work.

Charlie,

Dont 4get about the tutorial we did for WE5, that is very helpfull.

Also the PAL version of WE5 is not released in the UK till this friday, There is a BETA release out but that does not have the correct players names and a few other bits missing.

The PAL version also has extras compared to the JAP WE5 which has been out for a while now, so if you can hang on for a few days and get the new release.

Cheers

Dal
