Modchips.....YOU DON'T NEED IT FOR YOUR BACKUPS

Yes, your DC will play your backups with no chips

I know it...my DC got no chip..and my backups work perfectly

Then don't buy any Modchip !!!

What was the point of this message? Everyone who is anyone in the Dreamcast community already knows MODCHIPS are only useful if someone plays foreign titles (Jap). Even then, the bootdisk will allow you to do the same thing (from what I've heard).

Hi Wayne,

i write this message, because someone made an advertisement for his modchips, saying that it was useful for backups.

And some people believe that

(it is for PSX/PS2 but not for DC..)

Yes, the boot disk do that as well.

I now see what you mean! Newbies like this last guy cause all sorts of confusion and misinformation!!!

Cutter Slade, you are D E A D W R O N G about the need for a mod-chip!

The only "MOD-CHIP" that is available for Dreamcast is for IMPORT TITLES (geez! Read my last freakin' message!!! Are you blind!?)

No mod-chip ever made for the Dreamcast will allow copies to work. The reason is, all Dreamcasts prior to 10/2000 played backups without any hardware changes and those manufactured on or after 10/2000 will still play the backups, as long as the discs are re-written in a slightly different format.

Stop spreading misinformation!! Especially when you don't even freakin' know what you're talking about!
