Well, I didn't get a respond from the company, and I'm installing a NEO2.2 Chip today. As you said, one can't go wrong with it, and as I see it, it's always removeable (At least, that's what the guy who is about to install it says).
I haven't tried to read the Cloning instructions yet, so, if I'll get myself an NTSC game, I guess I'll have to back it up to play it... Thanks anyways! |

That's fine. Remember, CloneCD to copy and DVD Region X are excellent no trouble combinations, especially for EA games.

Well done. For DVDs, it's not possible to use CloneCD. You either need to rip DVDs to CD using procedures set out in tutorials at ####://www.ps2ownz.com , or buy a Pioneer A03 DVD-R with PrimoDVD software. You're in for the duration, I'm afraid! Welcome to the show.

:-)
at saturday i gave my ps2 to a shop that installs the NEW ORIGA-CHIP for me *cheeeeeeeer* this new version should work better than the first. it allows you also to boot any ps1 copie and original ps1 import games. tomorrow i`ll get it back and then i can play mgs2 and other cool ntsc games. thanx to charlie, without you i would have never heard about the origa chip. but i have another 2 questions: 1.) a friend of mine bought a new dvd region x (he has installed the common origa chip). it is one of a new generation which doesn`t need the dongle anymore. there is only the boot-cd within the package. instead of the dongle you must have equiped a memory card at your ps2. does anyone knows if the "new" dvd region x allows him to boot original imports and backups on his ps2 ? and works it the same as the "old" version ????? 2.) unfortunately my burner doen`t work with clone cd. does anyone know if "discjuggler" is able to create useful 1:1 copies of ps2 games ?????? thanx to everyone who helps me. |

thanx to charlie, without you i would have never heard about the origa chip.
ANSWER: You're really welcome. It's amazing how people haven't discovered the OrigaChip. No hype, just silently working well! 1.) a friend of mine bought a new dvd region x (he has installed the common origa chip). it is one of a new generation which doesn`t need the dongle anymore. there is only the boot-cd within the package. instead of the dongle you must have equiped a memory card at your ps2. does anyone knows if the "new" dvd region x allows him to boot original imports and backups on his ps2 ? and works it the same as the "old" version ????? ANSWER: I use the "new" DVD Region X on OrigaChip; DAL uses it (I think it's the new one) on NEO2.x. I can boot all original imports; DAL can't. Don't know about the "old" version - never used it. 2.) unfortunately my burner doen`t work with clone cd. does anyone know if "discjuggler" is able to create useful 1:1 copies of ps2 games ?????? ANSWER: Only CLoneCD does proper 1:1 copies. If you have games that need this facility (EA, sub-channel protected) then go the extra mile and get a compatible burner. My advice is to avoid HP; Yamaha is least trouble and guaranteed results. |

Well, I will not have an OrigaChip in the near future.
Am I screwed? |

Gunblade, in your last post you said you were happy!
Why should you be screwed? All you've got to do to play everything currently available on CD is to make a CloneCD copy of it. |

Yeah, But something is bothering me:
How do I know if a burned game I recieve contains all of the game? I mean, I just got Devil May Cry and it lacks a few movies! I don't wanna play incomplete games, or rips! I wanna play the whole game with all the movies and everything! How do I check this? |

Then you have either to buy a DVD-R or the original game. That's obvious! OrigaChip doesn't change that.

You can! get AR2 and follow these instructions:
1. Power on with AR2" in PS2 (keep reset button pressed) 2.Select start game 3.Press EJECT & swap with an original PAL game (GT3 PAL works well) 4.Wait 10 seconds 4.5 Select without codes 5.Let go of reset (draw opens for 4 seconds) 6. Swap with origional 7 Press X as soon as draw starts to close This works 100% with Neo 2.2 and DVD's NTSC/PAL Dont forget you must keep hold of reset up to step 5 Needs a bit of practice for some but it does work Good Luck |

Gunblade, I'm not sure Cheesy's answered your question. You asked how you can find out whether a DVD rip has all the movies etc - is it incomplete?
As I've explained, a DVD rip is incopmplete and it is difficult (not impossible) to find out what's missing by knowing the contents of the DVD version and compating it with the rip. Smaller files mean a downsample; missing files mean missing files. |

He didn't answer my question, But I think he just answerd a bigger question... How to play original imports! is this true? Is this possible with the NEO 2.2?

the guy who installed the origa chip for me said that only messiah and origa are able to boot ntsc originals !!!!!!!! and i have heared that the messiah chip will be released in next two weeks !!!!! perhaps you can find someone next to you in israel who can install that chip for you. yesterday i played mgs2 for the first time (it was easy to boot it with origa/dvd region x combo !!) and i had to think about you. i hope you`ll soon find a store which can install the origa or messiah for you to play original ntsc versions. or you`ll find someone who is able to create dvd copies...... good luck !!!! |
