Ubisoft and Starforce

I noticed that every game which is released by Ubisoft, is protected with a new version of Starforce. For nearly none of the new games, a no-cd patch is released. But there a other non-Ubisoft games like Ufo Aftershock, Vivisector and Sniper Elite, which are also protected with a new Starforce version and for them, a patch was released after a few days.

Can someone tell me why the games from Ubisoft are harder to handle than the games from other publishers even if they have the same version of Starforce?

The difference between Ubi & other publishers

I think the difference between Ubisoft and other publishers is that they use the "Starforce Pro" version.

In the "Pro" version of Starforce everything is blocked by the protection, like "Daemon-Tool", "Alcohol", and Software-debugger like SoftIce and so on...

And the "Basic" version only does couple of that things.

You can read about this here-> http://www.star-force.com/protection...on.phtml?c=310

So i think that's why some games could be cracked in a few weeks and others want be able to get cracked for a year or even more...

For cracking games, a Software-Debugger is high priority and even if there won't be someone who programs a NEW, ULTIMATE, UNFINDABLE, HIDDEN Debugger, the way cracking the Pro version of Starforce would be very long stony and hard.

Greetz!

I think the games by UBIsoft are so bad, that no cracker want to make a crack for it.

Do you really think that way ?
I love most of the Ubisoft games, eg
Pop 3, Bia, Bia Eib, SC3 ,... all of them are great games...
Well, it seems they did not release any good FPS since Far Cry, did they ? Maybe thats the reason you hate UBISOFT...

Just my opinions:
Prince Of Persia - The Sands Of Time: was good, but second and third was bad.
Brothers in Arms: Really bad game. Call Of Duty much more better
Splinter Cell 3: I hate all the Splinter Cell games.

BUT I DON'T HATE UBISOFT.
Also, i don't only play FPS. But at the moment i only play Battlefield 2.

You'll get new weapons, when you be promoted to:
- Lance Corporal (500 points)
- Corporal (800 points)
- Sergeant (2500 points)
- Staff Sergeant (5000 points)
- Gunnery Sergeant (8000 points)
- Master Sergeant/First Sergeant (20000 points)
- Master Gunnery Sergeant/Sergant Major (50000 points)

I'm curently working on my last 1000 point to get the promotion to First Sergeant.

Ubi didn't make Far Cry - Crytek did (Ubi was just the publisher).
Anyway, I'd say King Kong was a good FPS (though a bit different from everything else out there ).

Sure, thats why i wrote 'release'
The publishers release games, the developers develope/make/create games
King Kong is no pure FPS imo... running around with a monkey in third person perspective and smacking t-rex' in the face is no FPS

@muJi.fiGHt3r: My point is just that Ubi can't take any credit for how good Far Cry is.

somehow they have to be responsible for the games they release...
they decide which game they gonna release, so i doubt they dont have a look at it...
sure they didnt make the game itself but they obviously can at least point the direction by choosing the game...
if Far cry was crap, they would not have released or bought it from Crytek..

Farcry was good, it's a shame that SF was "invented" to the rest..especially SC:CT...nice works but the debugger can still find you, bitch...the VM here is very impressive

There are many versions of starForce.
UbiSoft use StarForce Pro version for its games so this games are harder for cracking.
StarForce Pro version is costly, too!
