F.E.A.R. ruined, and the backup isn't working properly

I read the FAQ, and it didn't help. I just formatted, and when i tried to install F.E.A.R., the DVD was screwed up (VERY scratched up, scratches going in circles and destroying the DVD). Anyways, i decided to download the backup copy here from gamecopyworld, and when i mounted it with daemon tools, the autorun failed and instead i got the contents of the image. I tried to run the setup but it would not work. So i used alcohol 120%, and got the same result. Then I tried burning the image using alchol 120, and im still seeing the contents of the CD rather than than the game running itself. So i opened up a command prompt and tried running setup from there, but to no avail, i got an error message saying that the program is too big to fit into memory. I tried moving all the files into a folder, and running the setup from there, and that has not worked. Has anyone had this problem and can does anyone know the solution? thanks in advance!

Umm, the mini backup images are only used to run the game without a CD inserted, not to install the game from.... lol.

crap. You wouldn't by chance know of a way to install the game do you? Or am i stuck with re-buying the game?

I don't think you have to rebuy, just ask the publishers for a new copy. They will probably ask for you to send them some stuff, but thats about it. I'm not sure about this, so just call the publishers to see what you get.

kthnx, i will. btw the mini-images are those disk images that are only around 5MB's correct? this image is around 4.3GB >_>

That is a maxi image, and it functions the same way as a mini image, the only difference is the size.

k, guess i'll give the devs a call tommorrow. And if i can't get a replacements, i still have the box and reqeicpt, so ill just take it back to wal-mart and get a replacement
