What is the best way to backup Starforce CD

Hi all,
I just got my starforce protected Lockon Flaming Cliffs delivered yesterday. Now I don't want to put my cd in the drive everytime I play the game. What would be the best way to backup the cd, so I can play without the cd in the drive.? I've heard the alcohol 120 works best with starforce....what about blindwrite? Any other suggestions are most welcome.

Thankx

Latest versions of Starforce can only be played by mounting the image in an external USB Drive Housing.

Now this external USB Drive, does it have to be a DVDrom or can it be a DVD rewrite drive?
Thanks.

He means an image from a HD on a USB connection.

Well I created a total dump with blindwrite and then tried to mount that image from a usb harddrive, the strange thing which starforce did was that it asked me for a serial key, strange is that this version of Lockon Flaming cliffs comes without a serial key. So maybe the blindwrite dumping wasn't good enough. i'll try the alcohol 120 tonight and will report back my findings.

without serial key = starforce keyless, the keys just stored on the cd in sector 16, game reads it from there, saving you from having to type it in..

Remember to read the discs SLOWLY when making a full image.

Blindread does it well.

I tried mounting the image on the sata RAID 0 drives and it still won't work. But it only works from a DVD external drive.

Ok I used the Alcohol to make an image and then burnt it also using alcohol, used a USB-IDE Dongle and connected my IDE DVD-ROM to it and booted my PC. The dvd room was identified as a new USB DVD-ROM, I placed the newly created Disk in it and fired up Lockon FC, and the starforce showed up telling me that my lockon serial number is wrong or not present aaaagggghhhhhh............ wasted two CDs coz of this starr-C-R-A-P

@BOFH
Always use a DVD-RW when trying something new for the first time. It certainly saves on wasted DVD's.

This is how you do it to save your CD getting scratched to hell

install lockon Gold
Run with original CD in
Exit game

Must have alcohol120% or Daemon tools installed
open the program anti-blax 116 (antiblaxx116.exe)
choose lockon.exe
choose securerom7
run the game using anti-blax
