Exclamation Sportfischen - ProtectCD v6??? Any Idea?

Hi you,

bought a game called "Sportfischen Professional".

I used A-Ray Scanner and Protection ID V5 and at least Clony XXL to look what kind of Protection is on the CD. But without any result.

No tool could say what kind of protection is on the disc.

If i start the game with an useless image it shows me, that not the correct disc is inserted. Then there is an internet-link which gets me to the protectdisc homepage.

The result i get out of it is that it must be a kind of ProtectCD version.

My thought was ProtectCD V6, because i read somewhere that this protection won´t be shown with any protection-scanner...

Then i made an image with alcohol using protect v5 settings DPM x4, reading-speed x8.

Mounted the Image with D-tools v4 all emulations of and using Anti-blaxx V1.18 using ProtectCD-settings. Result -> Didn´t work...

I played NFSMW using SD4Hide, ended it and forgot to restore SD4Hide-settings.

Second try on the game "Sportfischen Professional" with D-Tool and look it worked without any problems...

Until i realized how that could be i was wondering and wondering.

Now it works perfect, mounted in D-tools v4 all emulations off and SD4Hide enabled!!!

Could that be a new way to get ProtectCD v6 to work???

If anybody has a game with ProtectCD V6, please try this and post your results.

Or any opinions what kind of protection that could be???

Thanx!

regards

Contact cdkiller, author of ProtectionID and member of this forum. I'm pretty sure he'd love to have a copy of the original, protected EXE/DLL so that he can add the detection of its copy protection to his software.

try the universal way:
mount image in DT4 with all emulation ON and unplugg your drives or disable them by using SF Nightmare.
If that doesn't work, test if your DVD drive is able to read DPM.
Therefore just check the size of the .mds file u made. It's gotta be bigger than 5kb.

@ JoeFoster/STA

How do i contact him? Or does he find me if he wants... *gg*

@LoedD

I got it to run if you read all my text!

With Daemon V4 all emus off and SD4Hide! Alcohol was de-installed. But that´s not normal for ProtectCD V6 or is it?

And i´m gonna never unplugg my drives! I don´t rape my PC for playing games without a disc!

it has already been added 2 weeks ago in my private builds
the protection is called "Protect Disc v6.5". a new company took over the VOB protect CD/DVD and the name has been changed. it´s still the "old" Protect CD/DVD code.

Oh ok! Than i just have to wait until new protection ID version is comming out.

But it´s very simple to play games with this protection.

It also works with an mini-image of the game! But the only thing is to uninstall alcohol (newest version) because of emulation-software.

Daemon V4 is no problem.

Perhaps someone helps this information because other games like Ankh, in 80 days round the world and so on use this protection too, i think

Greetz!
