Can CDR games damage a Dreamcast?

Please no smart remarks... I know that CDR games can damage a PSX laser assembly (ie: video skip, I also know why that happens), but are DC's affected as well or is there not enough reports of this to make any conclusion. Thanks for anybody's help.

i havent heard anything about damaging the laser but i have heard that cracking a game and rearranging the file structure (usually in alphabetical order) makes the unit have to search more than it normally would causing a 'sooner' wear out w/the motor.
