Question How to make backup disc for Starship Troopers DVD?

Does anyone know how I can backup Starship Troopers, it's a 5.84GB DVD. I think you can rip out the movie scenes like you do when ripping out extra content from DVD movies but as I have never done this I was hoping that someone could tell me how it's done. Or if there is a better way to backup the DVD could someone please explain to me how?
Thanks 4 any info you can provide.

You could possibly remove all the unneeded foriegn language files? Dont remove the movie files this will only ruin the game experience.

Thanks for the help Grumpy

Thanks, it would be a mistake to delete the movie files. I tried those links you posted and one of them didn't work but I've registered at CD 2 DVD and I'm just waiting on my activation e-mail and I will have a look around then.
What software do you use or recommend to rip out the language files, I have AnyDVD but I uninstalled it after I read that it causes problems with game protections reading it as emulation software.
Anyway do you know of a specific link that would explain how to do this?
Appreciate the help, thanks again!

I don't have this game, but perhaps it is similar to this DVD9-2-DVD5 conversion: http://fileforums.com/showpost.php?p...&postcount=138

@ EvilHomer

Starship Troopers is one of the few games I've ever seen which isn't worth the backup copy. Absolutely horrible, looks like crap at med\low res, semicrap at high res and it's really boring to play. Ants animation is simply ridiculous, but what would you expect from a game announced years ago???
Anyway, if you bought it, I hope you will have fun, even if I can't really figure out how you can do.....

P.S. The only Not-Off-Topic thing in my post: Try rippin' out languages and leave the movies where they are. Damn, someone said it before me.....

Which/what links didnt work?
I have anydvd installed and I have never had a problem getting games to work. And for the record, I also have Alcohol. Daemon, CloneCD, CloneDVD and Nero installed, without changing the bus driver names for either alcohol and Daemon, and I still dont see emulation messages. And the only program I have ever used to hide virtual drives is SR7 Stop and that was only needed for the game F.E.A.R.
Now I dont actually have Starship Troopers so I cant tell you exactly what to delete but the link GLH supplied should get you fairly close to what you want to do.
And your email activation from cd-2-dvd should have gone out to you almost immediately. Let me know if you are yet to recieve the email and I will look into it for you if you havent.

Thanks GLH and Grumpy

@ Grumpy
I just activated the CD 2 DVD registration so thanks, it should help me out.
The link that didn't work is the irc://irc.efnet.net/fileforums link, I've tried it a few times with no luck.
I wish I had as much luck as you, I'm forever getting those security module and emulation error messages but thats for another time.

@ Grumpy and GLH

I've completed all the steps in the guide from GLH and I still have a 5.54GB folder.
I think the problem is that I have 11 data.cab files which all but 2 are 666,000 kb in size. Do I have to repeat the remove.bat process with each of these data.cab files or is there something else I should do?
Another thing, in steps 4) and 5) I have no VIDEO folder or a readme.txt file in the root dir (or any dir) so maybe these files are in the other cab files.
It shouldn't hurt if I tried the remove.bat process with each of the cab files, should it? If there are no language files in them it just won't run, will it?
One more thing, when I burn the temp folder back to DVD, should I use the label AOW as suggested or is that just specific to the post?
I hope I've explained everything properly guys but thanks again anyway, I should get there, eventually???

You need to have 'Mirc' installed first before that link will work, it will take you to the Fileforums irc chat channel.
Now, remembering I do NOT have the Starship Troopers game myself so I cant be more specific about which language files need to be removed?
The guide that GLH refers to is just a general idea of what may have been possible, that conversion is actually for the game 'Act of War' so no you would not Label your DVD 'AOW'. You will label your DVD the same as your original disc.
You should maybe post a request, for Starship Troopers DVD9 to DVD5, in the CD2DVD thread here at fileforums, someone may have already done the conversion and may be able to offer you more help than I can?
I can also tell you there is no such conversion already at cd-2-dvd.com. Good luck.
