my starforce games dont work anymore

I am having problems with starforce games since i updated to the latest starforce drivers. Now when i try to play any starforce games (chaos theory, trackmania sunrise, worms mayhem, codename panzers etc) it comes up with the screen.

" Application installed successfully. Reboot the computer to complete the installation. continue?"

When i reboot i still get the same message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all these games but have to same problem. I have tried removing the starforce drivers with the removal tool on the starforce page and updating them again to the latest version. Still the same problem.

Can anybody help me please?

I agree on not buying SF protected games but what are we supposed to do when certain games come out and have SF protection? I've desparately wanted X3 The Reunion and UFO Aftershock ever since I played their predecessors and heard about their development but I have put off buying them because of the crappy SF protection on them.

I believe in copy protecting games to cut down on piracy but I DO NOT agree with games installing flawed device drivers into peoples systems just to try and counter a few who won't pay for decent games. Are Star Force going to reimburse all the people who have had problems with their PC's since using SF? I work with computers and it isn't cheap having your system professionally reloaded for you.

Come on Star Force, cut out the crap & come on games developers, never mind piracy you guys are losing sales through using lousy copy protection methods like SF.

Ahh, I feel better now...hehehe!

I think the solution is very simple. Don't buy the game for a high price right away when it becomes available in the shops. Wait until a proper no-CD patch (or mini image, whichever you prefer) also becomes available on GCW. (You might wanna keep watching this forum for possible problems with that particular no-CD patch or mini image, though!) Then buy the game, for a lower price, from the publisher or second-hand (via e.g. Ebay) and use it with happiness and without the copy protection. (Perhaps, even the publisher or the developer may remove the nasty part of the copy protection in late official updates...)

As ive said before the SF client stops any attempts of altering its driver or trying to copy the protected games.

If you didnt, then the game works fine.

Ive got both UFO and X3 and they work fine for me, and I made sure I took the necesary precautions while making my image for playing without the DVD.

Some people dont make sure they are taking precautions while making images or mounting them. In turn the SF protection kicks in, it is its job.
