Getting Pissed

Im really starting to get pissed. Everytime I find a FTP link it is always "Action Cancled". Same thing with Direct Downloads! I have been trying to get games that I really want and I get nothing. So... I really don't know what to do at this point. I have looked everywhere. SO NOW IM PISSED OFF!!! Im not asking for asking for ISO links <coughEmaiLcough> but that all I have to say. TY!!

LoL Rush is back with problems.

I've been leeching from ftp's for a while, and I'm not familiar with an "Action Cancelled" error. Probably because you are using a different browser. I use smartftp and I never got such an error.

You could be getting that error because you are using a browser that doesnt support pubs (Cute, WS, etc.) So I suggest you boot up smartftp and try the addy then. If you still get some kind of error with smartftp, then reply with it and I'll try to help you out.

Pfft... FTPs are sooo.. the other day. Use newsgroups/usenets, no deletes, only missing files are because the poster forgot to include all files.

Dont you have to pay for that shit?

I would never pay for games, it completely ruins the idea of dreamcast pirating... eh... backing up.

The "Action Canceled" probelem is due to Anti-Leech being put into the website's links. I have problems leeching via Netscape, but not with MS Internet Explorer.

And besides, downloading ISO's via web pages or even FTP's anymore truly *IS* so 5 minutes ago.

Learn how to get onto IRC or the newsgroups leeches. It's SOOO much better.

I second that, I for one, would not recommend using ftp to get dc games unless you got some access to a distro/dump or a very generous server. Otherwise all you get are shrewd assholes with gay ass ratios. I got better things to do than upload twice as much as I want to download. I'd much rather wait in queues on Irc rather than go through all the ftp bs. It's much easier to find good fservs on Irc than it is to find a fast, non-ratio ftp link. Of course it all depends on how much research you've done and how welcome you are to use particular servers, its just a whole lot easier to start out on Irc.

I've run into similar problems due to not using PASV (Passive) FTP mode. I'm running through an Internet gateway router) that permits all PCs on my local household network to access the Internet), and before I set PASV FTP mode, I'd get aborts and stuff (usually before the FTP ever starts).

If you are using MSIE for FTP and you use a firewall, router or some DSL modems, check your TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/ADVANCED for "Use Passive FTP for compatibility with some firewalls and DSL modems" and make sure it's checked.

Newsgroups are my primary source of goodies. You can either pay $10 a month for 6 gigs worth of xfer at www.easynews.com, or learn the hard ropes of newsgroups yourself.

Newsgroups/Usenets are the best, no queues like in IRC. It may or may not cost money. It didn't cost any money for me, because Road Runner, my ISP, supplies a news server free of charge. Check with your ISP to see if they supply one, if not, hit up Yahoo/Google and do a search for free news servers/usenet servers, tons of sites dedicated to that sort of thing.

Alright, when it prompts you for the news server enter the following address:

news-server.XX.rr.com

XX being your region, like mine would be, news-server.sc.rr.com
