problem: 80% my dvd cover prints on one page the rest prints on another page
i did some research and ran into a program called coverxp
the program works good but when i try to print a dvd label my printer prints about 80% on a sheet of paper and finishes the print which is about 20% on another page does anyone know what the problem might be i had the same problem with nero cover designer it was doing the same thing height wise coverxp is good at printing the correct height but now coverxp is doing the same thing with the width Last edited by YSR; 21-01-2004 at 15:18. |

I use nero for my covers m8 and have no probs whatsoever.
But there is a few little things about it you have to do everytime. Go to the dvd cover in the cover designer section. For the cover select 'insert' Then select 'Object' ...'insert' then 'image'... Find the piccie you have saved and select it Size the piccie to the template. Then click print......then go in to the set-up and select 'landscape' Then go into the elements and de-select 'booklet' and 'disc' Then just click on ok and the cover will print out to the correct size for the case...with some cutting guide. You need to de-select the 'booklet' and 'disc' everytime you print acover but the printer 'landscape' setting will stay as it is until the program is re-started. |

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!, ive tried... CoverXP, Neato, Sure thing DVD labler and the new Nero cover designer.
EVERY single frickin' one cuts off the width of my cover by 1/4"! Nothing will even try to print on th last 1/2" of my paper! Im in the US and the standard paper is 8.5" x 11" which is what im using. Ive tried everything from making my own templates, to A4, Legal to 8.5 x 11 in the programs themselves and my printer setup..... it prints short EVERY time! Even patched the Neato/mediaface software TWICE cuz the sites' FAQ said it would fix the problem. NO GO! Im using an HPofficejet v40 AND a Lexmark 3100 all in one. (yep, two different ones) Nothing makes a difference. If ANYONE has a DVD CASE INSERT template for 8.5" x 11" that can print even close to "edge to edge", I would GREATLY appreciate ya sharing it. I just printed out a 50pack of paper, front and back trying different settings with no luck. (i used "draft" settings while testing of course )I cant believe its this frustrating. Man, if this is "user error", You're more than welcome to call me S-T-U-P-I-D!!! At this point as long as someone can help me get it figured out i couldnt care how stupid i look. Been at cdcovers.cc forums, darkwet forums, Nero Support and fellowes/neato support, not a single suggestion has worked yet. For now im stuck pring "small" dvd inserts. |

Re: problem: 80% my dvd cover prints on one page the rest prints on another page
I use Surething CD labeler deluxe 4 and have never had a problem with it. The preveious version (3) had some problems with the Neato brand lables and a few others as centering was off a bit and sometimes my HP printer would not recognise the right paper using that software but version 4 plus the update seems to be problem free for the mostpart.

I have been using Nero v6.0 and have no probs creating a cover or label. I use the templates provided and import the pic i find and print no probs for dvd case or jewel case...With nero 6.0 you can do dvd label and cover in 1 hit which i like.

I share your pain. But here's what I've discovered -- it's not the program that's doing the cutting. It may, in fact, be your printer.
I experimented with a bunch of programs and finally I ended up designing a template of my own in Photoshop 7. I made sure that it fit into the constraints of a standard sheet of paper. But when I printed it, it still chopped the leading edge of the insert. It turned out that my printer - a Lexmark 5150 All-in-One requires a small border at the top and bottom of a page. Or so it seems... I've even tried fooling into thinking it has legal paper which is much longer than 8 inchs. Still no dice. But you might try that. My end solution is to print the insert on card stock on two seperate sheets. First I print the cover and spine. Then in a seperate print job, I print the back and spine. And I just overlap them underneath the DVD plastic cover and it's hard to notice that it isn't one full insert. |

i have a laserjet IIIp printer. it's old but ive seen it print full one length to the full other length, cutting off the opposite sides each time.
i figure if you add both versions up it should be able to print a full cover. i just ordered extra memory for it so hopefully that will solve my problem. but i guess i'll settle for cheap small covers if it still doesnt work out
