Newbie Question

Good Afternoon,

I am very new to the gaming world and have a question regarding mini-images.

What exactly are they, and how can they be used instead of a NO-CD Crack?

I have access to a mini-image for a game, and alcohol 120%. After being unable to find the crack for the game, I have resorted to this, but alas, I am very confused.

Any Help provided would be GREATLY appreciated.

All my thanks and prayers,

John

Basically a mini-image contains the protection (somewhat) of the original CD.

So when you mount this in Alcohol 120% it will fool the game into thinking you have your original in the drive.

This offcourse wont work 100% all the time, but there are other tools around like anti-blaxx that stop games from spotting Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% residing in your system.

Benefits of this include..

1. No need to find a new no-cd for each patch

2. Online play if the game has it. Since most will detect a no-cd in use.

Excuse my ignorance, but when you say 'mount' do you simply mean creating a cd from the mini-image (mdf, mds) file?

Also, thank you very much for your quick and informative response.

"Mounting" is when you use a program like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to place the mini-image into the virtual drive.

Look at mounting like, when placing a cd into a drive. Basically that is what mounting is.
