PPF Files (How do you make them)?

Does anyone know how you go about making a PPF File? I know how to patch files with the PPF file but where do you get the PPF files and how do you make one anyone?

What do you need to make one for?

To play newer games that i have installed but are not working they keep returning to startup screen. I found the hulk ultimate destruction ppf and patched it with ppf patcher and then it worked now I just need the ppf for spidey ultimate, shaolin monks, and rainbow six.

I wounder why I never have to patch games. They just always work.
