Version 9/10 problems

I have a friend who has a v9 or 10 silver console, he says he has freezing on loading also colours look wrong - pinks and greens when playing sometimes. Has anyone any clue as to what the problem could be? Thanks for any advice...

Valcor

PS this is an unmodded PS2, the probs are with original discs

It might be a longshot but I had something similar happen when my PS2 kept over heating with the hot hard drive i had. Is his fan on the back working?

Hi Frito

thnkx for post, checked the fan all ok, tho' much quieter than our v4 and v7 PS2s! (He has no hard drive in his console either).

Been checking some other threads and the pink colours may be caused by dirty leads or not plug in securely enough! Not sure about other probs tho', I'm going to ask him to bring his discs round (I have his console) as most of my discs seem ok in his machine. Ta all!

NoNo9 is on a distinguished road
Cables

He should try a different A/V cable and if this doesn't help then he should go back to Sony... If he's lucky the system is still under warranty.

Thanks NoNo9 - his discs were pretty filthy, may be cause? I've cleaned them all up and they work ok at my gaff (should have tried them uncleaned then I would have eliminated the prob) I have told him to carry on from now and if its still no good, we'll try swapping with my cable and see if that's any good!!

Thanks all......
