Thanks Tippex.
I removed the overclocking. I also unisntalled game and re-installed it to make sure.
I have moved all the Vid settings to the lowest level and still same result. Video corruption. BTW everything in game world except for the characters are perfect.

latest drivers, direct x etc?, if it isnt the overclocking then it sounds like a driver glitch, or the overclocking screwed the memory on the video card, but hopefully that didnt happen

Tested vid card and not affected by the overclocking since I used ATI tool to do it and safe guards in place to protect card.
I have downloaded latest ATI driver and installed it. Same result.
Directx 9.0c installed

PIV 2.2 Ghz 1 gig ram
so no probs with minimum requirments there.
Only prob is Vid and Midways states ATI 9500 and up. Played Far Cry on this card and no prbs and that game was heavy on Vid cards.

Just try a couple of things:

1. Disable 'Fast Writes' either in BIOS or in ATI SmartGART options.
2. Drop RAM Speed in ATI tool by 10Mhz
These cured problems for me in some games.

Thanks BarryB
Tried yuor suggestions and no change. I even tried changing some configs in Vid setting I.E. 3D and OpenGL and same result.

I guess I will have to resign myself from playing this game.
Wish they would have put in some more detailled Vid adjustements in game set-up.

Think of the possibility that the overclocking has done some damage to your card.

It doesnt matter if you used ATI's OC util or someone elses. As soon as you overclock a card over its max default it will start to degrade.

I dont think the card was damaged by overclocking. If this happens, you usually wouldn't be able to play a game at all because the screen stays dark.
Simply wait till the next patch or Catalyst driver releases.

There is an updated StarForce EXE/DLL to fix a crash bug with Intel onboard graphic chips, I know you don't have that but you could try it and see if it helps!

Code:

Unhappy

Thaanks Barry,
Already beat you to the punch on that one.
tried it same prob.

The funny thing is that the Characters seems like they are tearing and not completly showing up. Tried playing the game a bit to see if there would be a change. No luck same prob, except that sometimes they charracters partially show up.

Reading through the readme.txt it states Radeon 9800 through 9500, doesn't mention the 9000 so it may not be fully supported, although that card does support pixel/vertex shaders.

Hi BarryB
yes that was my concern, but on the other hand FarCry was a heavier demanding game on Vid cards and I was able to play it with no probs.

Go figure lol

hi, i dont want to open a new thread, so i post my area 51 problem in here. Hope it'll be okay

Simple but stupid problem: After i copied the crack to play without cd, the game wont start, "fehler in anwendung / error in application" on adress "xrascxya12345"(cant repeat this long error message in original)in memory etc ...

if its my memory, why only crash at this game?
Any other got problems with this crack?

Without crack i can play ...

Kakarott,
If I am not mistaken, you need all the files (.ooo and .dfs) that have been modified to play with the cracked .exe.
I know that reloaded as put out a full crack with the amended files.

Good luck
