Very very weird problem with DC backup's

Hi. I have a very weird problem with backups for the DC. I have a few games that i have been playing for a month or so and now when i put them in my DC they don't want to boot up. What is the problem. I made the backups at x1 speed on a Sony writer using Memorex cd's and the DJ vers.3 program. Do you think the cd's aren't good. I looked at all the cd's and they have no scratch on them. Do you think that the problem may be the color of the surface of the cd. The Memorex cd's have a light light green color to it. Should i try the black cd's that they sell. All original DC games that i have do work properly and i have no problems with other backup games ( up to now ). Thank you.

try to test the games in another dreamcast... if it doesnīt work, that means your backups are damaged, maybe the surface has suffered some problem, scratches, pressure, I donīt know... but If the games work, maybe your laser disk is dying...

I have about 20 games written on those cheapy Memorex's... Never have had a problem... Although, a friend of mine has problems on occasion.. Like another poster said.. It could be your laser.. (sucks)

But, all DCs are made different. Different components were made in different places.. This can cause slight problems believe it or not.

Still.. If it doesnt boot at first.... Just turn it off and turn it back on...

Burning at 1x is worse than buning at say 8x - some discs (even though they say 1-16x), arn't optimised for 1x burning. You're using 1x probably due to the limitation in the Juggler "demo"?

Also, Iv'e never had a problem with ANY Memorex cd's - 100's have worked fine in my second-hand DC. The same goes for Traxdata and Verbatim. However a friend did have some problems with Ritek dics: he had to use the machine for an hour before some games would load, i.e. Motal Kombat. Perhaps it is indeed your laser that needs a slight adjustment.

Sorry for not having anything more solid to go with at the moment..

Problems with 1x recording in Juggler? mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you some links..

:-) :-)
