has playing backups killed my dc??

hey whats up all? i think my dc is on the way out..is this from playing backups or is it just old? i bought it off ebay in jan. but dont know how old it is.i am also wondering if i go out and buy a new one will my backups still werk on the new models? or how about the funco rebuilds? this problem seems to happen with backups and originals it just says put in game disk!!i get it to werk but usually only plays for 10 minutes and then cuts out..thanx in advance for any info!! mike
