Can I Just Remove My External Xbit Panel to play online after booting?

About 6 months ago my modded XBOX quit booting straight to EVOX when no disc is in the tray now it has started to go to the regular dashboad with or withought a disc everytime. And now it wont even boot with the mod chip on it just flashes on and off like it is trying to boot. But as soon as the XBOX boots and i can remove the external chip of my XBIT and it runs fine copied game or regular. Whats the problem? Also when i remove the external chip on an XBIT this does turn the chip off right? If it does, does this mean i can remove my chip as soon as my box boots and begins playing my copied game and play them online?

If you can still boot backups, the chip has already been loaded and is considered on.

I'm not sure what your problem is, the xbox flashes on and off and eventually boots after? The chip's led flashes? The xbox cannot boot with the chip off?

Do you get like this:
power on, power off, power on, power off, power on then the LED switches between green and red?

Thats called frag and if you get it your chips bios may be corrupted, any LPC hole can be damaged or similar...

Did you do anything with your xbox before this happened?

Yes it flashes 3 times then begins to flash red and green, nothing ever appears on the screen. It never boots. No i havent done anything except put in a mod chip and it worked perfectly for a while then one day it quit. It does that fraggin crap when the chip is turned off or unplugged. And so ur sayin that i cant play copied games even if i unplug my chip as soon as it boots? Because i was just gonna keep my chip on playwhatever when i wanted too, and just turn it off to play online. But now i have to have it to play anything and i want to play online but i cant cause of this chip problem. Thats what brought all of this up. If my Evox is screwed up how do i get that fixed, i have an XBIT.

This is indeed an odd problem. Did you solder thie chip in, or did you choose the solderless solution? You may want to check for lose wires. The Only way to be sure though, remove the chip and see if the xbox boots fine without anything at all.

You may want to check up on this, but it might be possible to re-flash another bank in your chip with an original bios file. Again, I remember people were doing this way back, but have no idea if it would still works to play on xbl.

I would guess that the chip or any point on the LPC is bad.
A friend of mine bought a new Xenium SP.I.C.E and modded with that one. Worked great for about 1 week and then started fragging. If you left it alone for about 10mins it would boot again and the next restart/game switch it would frag.

Do a real check on the chip as it might have gone bad for some reason. Could also be the BIOS on it...
