im not sure exactly what you mean....do you mean..on the flipside of the actual board? if so, then, NO, i wouldnt advise it.

just do whatever your instructions say to do. anywhere on the actual pin, including the solder, will do just fine. sure enough, when you touch the solder and the iron with the wire onto the pin, it'll all fuse together, so to speak.

oh, and try and use flux paste or a flux pen, it helps alot ive heard. i didnt use it, but thats just because im lazy and stingy with my money, and always use the bare minimmum. (ive gone through alot of hassle, that i wouldnt have had to, had i used flux, though)

If you are referring to the bios chip legs and can you solder to the pads under the bios chip on the back of the motherboard the answer is YES! However its not totaly recommended, I have never done it as there is no need to but I have seen others do it. You will simply need to make sure you have the right pad that matches the pin on the bios chip. Use a DVM to make sure you get it right.

Actually I have soldered to the pads on the bios chip. All the v12's I have done are this way. Not because its easyier but because all the points are on one side of the motherboard.

Good luck.
